European Market

Markets finished the week on a bearish tone on all products, always in a context of ample global supplies and reduction in consumption with weakness of world growth.

In small business due to Thanksgiving, American markets were in a downward trend as well.

Operators are questioning about the abolition of Argentinian export taxes for wheat and corn and the reduction from 35% to 30% for soybean.

On financial markets, traders are now expecting ECB’s meeting and decisions about a cut in rates with further liquidities pushing the euro lower down.

Tensions between Turkey and Russia following the destruction of a Russian plane could shake up cereals and sunflower exchanges. Russian’s supplies could be replaced by Ukraine’s origins for example.

On the international stage, we can note the purchase by Algeria of 75 000 t of feed barley probably from France.

European Commission revised slightly estimates for European wheat’s production from 149.2 Mt to 149.1 Mt, for corn to 57.5 Mt vs 57.4 Mt and rapeseed to 21.3 Mt vs 21.2 Mt one month ago.

Black Sea exports have decreased significantly from the beginning of the month. Wheat exports numbers are showing below 300 000 tfor Russia and 200 000 t for Ukraine. In both countries, corn exports are under 200 000 t implying weakshipment’s level for Ukraine. Due to high devaluation’s risks, growers are not increasing their salesfor the moment affecting shipment’s pace.

Have a good day
