On barley, export certificates were reaching 125 783 t for a total of 4.482 Mt since start of the season vs 3.6 Mt one year ago. For corn, imports certificates were displayed at 314 398 t taking the season’s total to 3.897 Mt vs 2.8 Mt last year.

IGC revised down its world output estimate of corn to 967 Mt vs 970 Mt shown last month. For wheat, the institute left its estimation unchanged to 726 Mt. We can note as well a perspective of acreage of 221.8 M ha down of 1% from last year.

Rapeseed prices were in little change split between a stretched European balance sheet and global ample supplies.

Black Sea market

Corn harvest in Ukraine is nearly completed with recent results better than previous average. Yesterday, Authorities estimated92% achieved implying 21 Mt collected. So final result could reach 23 Mt gross weight and 22 Mt after drying and cleaning. On the Ukrainian market, prices are showing a good resistance versus CBOT’s pressure.

Actually, compared to CBOT front contract, The CPT displays 10$ more implying the basis level expected since the beginning of the campaign. Despite of trader’s offers, growers are still reluctant to contract for January and February delivery. This  level of 10$ basis  was already observed in 2013/14 so it might be stable in the future as a result of high European demand.

Have a good day
