European Market
Markets are still showing sluggishness on whole commodities markets especially on oil.
The euro stays steady between 1.09 and 1.10 vs dollar before Fed’s meeting of Wednesday where rates should be increased by 25 basis points.
On the international stage, little activity with only the purchase of 52 000 t of US soymeal by South Korea. Last week, Algeria would have bought about 600 000 t of French and Argentinian wheat.
In India, hydric stress has led to a downward revision of seeded acreage, especially for wheat where sowing have been reduced to 24.19 M ha vs 25.38 M ha two years ago. It should place India in a situation of net importer for next campaign.
Rapeseed is again in small decline, penalized by freefall of oil prices.
Wheat, harvest 2015, quotes at 162 €/t on a July basis for a quality 76/220/11, delivery Rouen.
Chicago wheat trades to an equivalent of 164.60 €/t for December 2015 delivery.
Durum wheat, harvest 2015, trades between 270 €/t nominal delivered Port La Nouvelle.
Rapeseed, harvest 2015, quotes at 377 €/t nominal FOB Moselle, November 2015 delivery.
Feed barley, harvest 2015, quotes at 154 €/t July basis for standard quality, delivery Rouen.
Malting barley, Sebastian variety, harvest 2015, quotes at 181 €/t July basis, FOB Creil.
Sunflower, harvest 2015, quotes at 415 €/t nominal, October delivery, equivalent Saint-Nazaire.
Corn, 2014 harvest, trades at 160 €/t on a July 2015 basis, FOB Bordeaux
The feeding pea market trades at 210 €/t nominal, August 2015 basis, FOB Creil
American Market
Sluggish market last week with balance sheets still heavy in a unsure context about the worldwide economic growth implying crude oil prices tested the support of 35 USD/ barrel at New York.
Operator’s fears increased in relation to Argentinian competitiveness due to next week abolition export taxes of wheat and corn. Indeed soybean taxes will decrease from 35% to 30%.
The first surveys of the US acreage intentions for next spring show increased corn acreage at the expense of soybeans.
Friday, funds were net sellers of 7 000 lots of corn , 7 000 lots of soybean and 3 000 lots of wheat.
Black Sea Market
Prices provided below are now for the 2015 harvest.
Corn December 2015, closed at 3.7525 $/bushel, - 4.00 cents from previous day.
Wheat December 2015, closed at 4.9050 $/bushel, +- 5.00 cents from previous day.
Soybean November 2015 closed at 8.7375 $/bushel -7.50 from previous day.
Soy meal December 2015, closed at 275.70 $/t, - 0.20 $/t from previous day.
Soy oil December 2015, closed at 31.60 cents/lb, - 0.43 cents from previous day.
Black Sea market
Black Sea exports were unchanged last week.In weekly basis, Ukrainian exporters shipped between 200 and 250 000 t. By contrast Russian exporters shipped between 320 000 t to 500 000 t of wheat this week compared to 320 0000 tons shipped last week.
On Barley, Ukraine shipped their last volumes. However availabilities were lower than 200 000 t. During last week more than 100 000 t were shipped to Saudi Arabia and to Lebanon.
On corn, Ukraine displayed good export dynamic with 450 000 t shipped mainly to Europe. South East Asia still importing this product.
