European Market
Statcan’s report of Friday has been a blow for markets with upward revision of wheat and canola’s production for Canada. On wheat, Canadian’s output is displayed at 27.59 Mt vs 29.42 Mt last year, but 26.7 Mt expected. For canola, the estimation has been revised up to 17.23 Mt vs 16.41 Mt last year and far beyond traders’ expectations of 15.6 Mt.
The sharp rebound of the euro, following markets disappointment after ECB’s meeting, was penalizing European origins as well.
Concerning climatic conditions, current mild temperatures are raising questions with agronomists. At all events, FranceAgrimer maintains its crop rating at 98% “good to excellent” for winter’s wheat and at 97% for barley.
On the international stage, USA sold 178 000 t of soybean to China.

-rapeseed, 1.46 M ha, -1.46 M ha, - 1.7% from last year.

Friday funds were net buyers of 7 000 lots of corn, 7 000 lots of soybean and 3 000 lots of wheat.

Black Sea market
Black Sea’s barley is running out progressively with no shipments, for the first time since the beginning of the campaign, from Ukraine and Russia. Overall, shipment activity is currentlyl weak with 109 000 t and 322 000 t of wheat respectively shipped by Ukraine and Russia.
We cannotice that Russia was still exporting wheat to Turkey these last few days from Azov Sea’s harbors. There were also corn shipment of 212 000 t from Ukraine and 45 000 tfrom Russia. Even if the volumes are low, the variety of destinations shows the range of interest for this product.
Have a good day
